Abstract: There is a large amount of epigraphic narration in DU Fu’s poems. And the employment of allusions is the striking feature of his epigraphic narration. The distribution and handling of allusions is diversified in form in lines and stanzas. In addition, the employment of literary quotations in the narration is well arranged. As for the effects of the allusions in DU’s epigraphic narration, the use of various allusions makes the narration simple and general and the language connotative and elegant. The implication of compliment and depreciation leads to the successful narration and expression of his emotions. From this, we can see DU’s deep understanding and skillful use of employment of allusions.
