    Affectionate Martyrs for Beauty and Clowns Showing False Feelings: On “Seven Sages” and “Eight Wise Men” in New Words for the World

    • 摘要: 关于《世说新语》中的魏晋风流,以往所作的研究有许多错失处,对之重新作一番新视维的彻照和阐析,加深对魏晋人物精神内涵的理解。《世说新语》中的“七贤”与“八达”既有深情的“殉美”者,又有伪情的“秀丑”者。

       

      Abstract: There are many mistakes in the previous studies of Wei and Jin romances in New Words for the World. This paper has made an analysis of the characters of the book in an attempt to deepen people’s understanding of spiritual connotation of Wei and Jin. Among the “seven sages” and “eight wise men” in the book, there are affectionate martyrs as well as clowns showing false feelings.
