Abstract: As an important direction of rural construction in the era of digital economy, digital rural has attracted wide attention and discussion from different disciplines. The article takes 198 digital countryside related literature from core journals and CSSCI source journals in CNKI database from 2007 to 2022 as samples, analyzes the research hotspots of digital rural in China with the help of CiteSpace software, and sort out literature with traditional literature analysis methods, sums up the relevant research advances and makes a brief review. The results show that: (1) the overall research on digital countryside has been on the increase; (2) the research hotspots focus chiefly on the themes of digital countryside, rural revitalization, digital governance and digital economy; (3) the research achievements can be roughly divided into three stages: the budding, forming and booming stages, with pluralism gradually emerging. Future efforts can be directed to researches into the concept and function of digital rural, elements and mechanisms, problems and effects, and models and paths, and priority must be given to the reinforcing of the basic theory on digital rural, interdisciplinary research, quantitative measurement, evolutionary pattern and influencing factors, influencing effects, digital rural and rural revitalization, and the correlation mechanism between digital rural and common prosperity.
