Abstract: The overwhelming popularity of square dances reflects the spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly in our country. The square dances are soon faced with various contradictions, which, to some extent, helps bring forth the loomed-up in-depth problems of community cultural endowment in China. Community cultural endowment is not only blamed for its lack of proper management and service system, but also for the lack of humanistic care. To solve the problem, measures like government-leading market diversification, systematic management and service standardization must be encouraged, and the socialist core values should be used to guide, and the volunteer service and other cultural activities shall be held to enrich the content so that the community cultural endowment can be developed in a healthy and sustainable manner.
