Abstract:
Based on the data taken from the questionnaires among the college students in Gansu province, a systematic analysis is made of the students' choice for starting a business and the influencing factors by use of the Logistic Regression Model. The result shows that a college student's initiative for starting a business is dominantly influenced by the following factors: gender, grade, family support, domicile, monthly average family income per capita, classmates/friends' support, teacher support, whether or not to share information for starting business among peer students, the degree to which he or she understands the state's supportive policy for starting a business and the degree to which he or she is satisfied with the supportive facilities. The coping strategies are accordingly proposed for boosting college students' initiative for starting a business.
