Abstract: In the context of global economic integration, English has become one of the basic courses of education in our country. Meanwhile, as one of the main communication tool, English is driving the integration of global economy, under the background of which, simple knowledge of English is not enough to meet the needs of the development of the society. Talents required in the new age not only need to have the professional knowledge of English, but also a good command of English in various kinds of fields. Only interdisciplinary talents with comprehensive ability can well adapt to the development of today's society. In such an environment, many universities have provided the courses on ESP. However, the demands of students are not fully fulfilled, which hinders the needs of human resources market. The author will elaborate on how to build an ESP system; the offering of English courses based on students' demands and suggestions on improving the ESP system, in an effort to improve the quality of College English teaching and students' comprehensive ability.
