Abstract: In structure, the novels Outlaws of the Marsh and An Unofficial History of Scholars are similar to each other, and at the same time, have some essential differences. The key factor lies in the difference between group consciousness and individualism. The former includes the construction of both creation group and hierarchical text. While the latter involves the digestion factors and is expressed in the scholars' world views and the reconstruction of real stories.
